Cochica Tequila draws its name from a thoughtful fusion of two words: Costa and Chica. The Costa Chica region, a coastline marked by both beauty and history, is home to Afro-Mexican communities whose roots trace back through centuries of resilience, migration, and cultural blending. The lore of how African people arrived in this region often centers on shipwrecks and peril on the high seas—a narrative of struggle, escape, and the ultimate pursuit of freedom and refuge along the coast.
